Best Bangi-dong Tuna Restaurant in Seoul: Ethan Louis’s Pick
On the fourth Saturday of July 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming friends from Hong Kong to Goldtuna Bangi-dong.
These weren't just casual travelers who stumbled upon our restaurant while searching for a place to eat in Seoul. They had remembered seeing us on Hong Kong television and online videos from years ago and made sure to include Goldtuna as a must-visit destination in their Korean travel itinerary.

Recognizing "Somaek Auntie" the Moment They Walked In
The moment the group entered the restaurant, they recognized "Somaek Imo" (our famous server known for her viral beer-and-soju mixing performance) immediately.
Their reaction wasn't like meeting a stranger; it was more like finally meeting someone they had watched on screen for a long time. They approached her first with warm hugs and greeted her enthusiastically.
During the meal, they made sure to take a commemorative photo with her. You can see the joyful atmosphere of the day in their big smiles and thumbs-up poses with Somaek Auntie in the center.

How Edan Lui’s Visit Left a Lasting Impression in Hong Kong
A few years ago, Edan Lui, a superstar from the Hong Kong idol group MIRROR, visited Goldtuna.
The scenes of Edan Lui enjoying our food and interacting with Somaek Auntie were widely broadcast and shared online in Hong Kong. Our guests mentioned that because of that broadcast, many people in Hong Kong have become familiar with Goldtuna and our famous Somaek Auntie.
While it might have been a short TV segment for some, for others, it turned Goldtuna into a specific destination they wanted to experience firsthand when visiting Seoul.

From Screen to Reality: How Media Influences Seoul Itineraries
Modern travel itineraries are no longer built solely around landmarks and shopping districts.
The food, the people, and the specific scenes travelers see on YouTube or television become primary destinations. We are seeing a rise in "experiential travel," where tourists seek to recreate and confirm the experiences they saw on their screens.
This visit followed that exact trend.
Edan Lui's visit introduced Goldtuna to Hong Kong, leaving a lasting memory of Somaek Auntie. Years later, that memory translated into a real-world visit by another group of Hong Kong travelers.
While view counts are just numbers, a physical visit is proof that content can truly move people to action.

Capturing a Special Seoul Moment with Hong Kong Friends
In the photos, the group is seen raising their glasses to the camera. The table is filled with the remains of a premium tuna omakase course, showcasing a meal well-enjoyed.
These photos are more than just proof of meeting a local celebrity; they are travel records of people who traveled from Hong Kong to Seoul to experience a place they had only seen from afar.

A Word from the "Tuna Uncle" (Owner)
Thank you so much for remembering Goldtuna and Somaek Auntie all the way from Hong Kong.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your trip to Korea and leave with many beautiful stories and memories to share with your friends for years to come.

Choose Your Goldtuna Branch Based on Your Seoul Itinerary
Goldtuna operates in two prime locations: Bangi-dong (Songpa-gu) and Sinsa-dong (Gangnam-gu).
If you are planning to visit the Lotte World Tower, Seokchon Lake, or Olympic Park, the Bangi-dong branch is the most convenient choice. If your itinerary includes Garosu-gil, Sinsa Station, Apgujeong, or the Gangnam area, the Sinsa-dong branch is perfectly located for you.
Both branches offer our signature multi-course meals, featuring premium tuna sashimi, sushi, grilled dishes, tempura, and more. Feel free to choose the location that best fits your travel plans and purpose of visit.
