Dutch Couple Visits Gold Tuna Bangi-dong After Viral Instagram Video

It is no longer a rare sight to see international guests visiting Goldtuna.

Some find us while searching for the best places to eat in Jamsil or Bangi-dong during their trip to Korea, while others come specifically after seeing our viral videos or receiving recommendations from friends.

On this particular day, we welcomed a couple who we initially thought were just tourists exploring the hidden gems of Seoul.

A wonderful couple from the Netherlands who visited us after seeing

videos of Goldtuna and our famous "Somaek Auntie."

Connecting Through Football: Thinking of Coach Hiddink

When I asked where they were from, they replied, "The Netherlands."

I immediately felt a sense of friendliness.

For Koreans, the Netherlands is a very special country.

Beyond being the land of tulips and windmills, it is the home of Guus Hiddink, the legendary coach who led Korea to the miracles of the 2002 World Cup.

With the recent World Cup hype, thinking of Coach Hiddink made our guests feel even more like old friends. We had a positive connection right from the start.

They showed us their Instagram, mentioning that the

"Korean Cocktail" (Somaek) videos are famous back in the Netherlands.

Bridging the Language Gap with Translation Apps

The couple was enjoying their trip across Korea.

I was curious how they found their way to Bangi-dong, Jamsil, so I immediately downloaded an extra language pack for my translation app.

As we began to converse, they pulled out their phones to show me Goldtuna’s Instagram videos.

These weren't just walk-in tourists; they were fans who had seen our content in the Netherlands and decided to make Goldtuna a destination on their Korean journey.

We relied on the power of translation apps to communicate deeply.

Viral Content Leading to Real-World Visits

The following sentence appeared on the translation screen:

"We saw your videos on Instagram and were so

impressed that we had to come visit you here."

Seeing that an Instagram video led someone to travel all the way to Bangi-dong, Seoul, was truly touching.

Out of all the thousands of restaurants in Seoul, they remembered Goldtuna and included us in their travel itinerary. We are deeply grateful.

A memory of them showing the video and the photo we took together after the meal.

Connecting Across Borders Through Content

This visit is a beautiful example of how online content can cross borders and turn into a real-life meeting at a restaurant in Seoul.

It was a powerful moment for us to witness how digital stories can connect people from opposite sides of the world right here in our dining room.

The entrance of our restaurant is covered with heartwarming reviews from our guests.

Our Philosophy: Listening to Every Guest

Regardless of where a guest is from, we believe our first job is to listen.

The hospitality begins by asking: where did you travel from? What content brought you here? What are you looking forward to most?

Even if we speak different languages, the sincere desire to understand a guest is always felt.

Goldtuna strives to be a place where international travelers feel welcomed, included, and cared for throughout their entire meal.

A Night to Remember with Our Dutch Guests

The couple responded with bright smiles throughout their meal, and we even captured some photos and videos together.

It was a pleasure meeting them in person. We are honored that Goldtuna could be a small part of their Korean travel story.

We had just as much fun serving them as they had dining with us!

Wishing You a Happy Journey in Korea

We hope the rest of your trip through Korea is safe and filled with happiness.

May the people you meet, the food you taste, and the time spent at Goldtuna remain as beautiful memories of your time in Korea.
