Gold Tuna Bangi-dong: Worth the Commute for 10-Person Group Dinners

Last Friday, ten colleagues from Gangnam Severance Hospital visited the Bangi-dong branch of Goldtuna for their company dinner.

They ordered our Royal Special course and enjoyed three rounds of "Somaek Imo’s" (Somaek Auntie’s) famous Jumakase (a fun drink-pairing performance). It was a relaxed evening for everyone to unwind and enjoy premium tuna after a long week of work.

From Gangnam Severance to Bangi-dong,

we are truly grateful that you chose to visit us.

A 5.9km Journey Through Friday Evening Traffic

The distance between Gangnam Severance Hospital and Goldtuna is about 5.9km in a straight line. In reality, the driving route is longer, and the Friday evening commute can be quite heavy in Seoul.

Think about how many restaurants they passed on their way to Bangi-dong. Between Gangnam and Jamsil, there are countless tuna spots and team dinner venues. They could have easily chosen a place right next to the hospital.

Despite many more convenient options, these ten guests decided to travel all the way to Goldtuna.

As a restaurant owner, I never take these choices for granted. Selecting one specific place out of thousands and actually making the trip through traffic feels like a small miracle to us.

A "Bulgeum" (TGIF) Dinner with Ten Colleagues

The menu for the evening was the Royal Special.

The premium tuna and various course dishes were served, accompanied by the energetic performance of Somaek Imo’s 3-set Jumakase.

In the photos, you can see everyone waving and smiling. It was a joyful scene.

Though they are colleagues, the focus this evening was on the bond of eating and drinking together rather than job titles or duties. It was a perfect way to end the week in comfort.

Capturing Workplace Connections in Photos

We see our coworkers every day.

However, as departments change, locations shift, or people move on, these groups naturally disperse. Even familiar faces can become hard to meet as time passes.

That is why I always offer to take photos of our guests before they leave.

While today might just feel like a routine company dinner, looking back at this photo years later might bring back fond memories of the conversations and laughter shared. Connections at work can be transient, but the scenes we share remain.

Life is an Event; Meaning is in the Interpretation

A Friday night dinner is an event. In the moment, it might seem ordinary. But as time goes by, the meaning changes. It becomes a story of people who endured tough times together or a scene of joy over a shared table.

A photograph is a record of that event. Often, we only realize a moment was "the good old days" after it has passed. I hope this dinner remains as such a memory for our ten guests.

We value your choice to visit Goldtuna above all else. Just like the smiles in the photo, I hope your future is filled with many reasons to laugh.

I hope the bonds you share today last for a long time.

May luck and blessings follow you in both your work and your life.
