Singapore to Seoul: How Content is Redrawing the Travel Map

Recently, a group of independent travelers from Singapore visited the Bangi-dong branch of Goldtuna in Seoul.

They mentioned that after watching a viral video of our "Somac Imo" (Auntie Somac, famous for her traditional Korean beer and soju cocktail performance), they made sure to include our restaurant in their South Korean travel itinerary.

This wasn't a restaurant chosen by a travel agency or a tour guide.

It was a clear example of how digital content discovered online directly shapes a traveler's route through Seoul.

How a Viral Video Led Travelers to Bangi-dong, Seoul

These guests didn't just stumble upon Goldtuna while looking for a place to eat in Seoul.

They had already seen our "Somac Imo" content back in Singapore.

They remembered the place from the video and specifically sought out our Bangi-dong branch during their self-guided trip to Korea.

The power of content cannot be measured by views alone.

Its true impact is felt when someone remembers a location, includes it in their travel plans, and finally visits in person.

This visit is a perfect example of that journey captured in a single photograph.

The Journey from Digital Content to Travel Reality

The flow of this particular case is quite simple:

Content Exposure → Memory of the Place → Integration into Itinerary →

→ The Actual Visit

The Auntie Somac video did more than just showcase a restaurant.

It gave someone thousands of miles away in Singapore a compelling reason to visit a specific spot in Seoul.

While one group's visit doesn't define the entire trend of inbound tourism, it confirms that content can transcend borders and influence global travel behavior.

A restaurant is no longer just a place one wanders into by chance. It can be discovered long before a trip begins and become a primary destination in itself.

Connecting Seoul Tourism with Gourmet Dining in Jamsil

Jamsil is a unique area where sightseeing, shopping, walking, performances, and dining all come together.

The Jamsil Special Tourist Zone, designated by Songpa-gu, stretches from Lotte World to Seokchon Lake, Bangi-dong Food Alley, and Olympic Park. The Lotte World Tower is another major landmark in this area.

According to statistics released in February 2025, Jamsil Station (Line 2) remains the busiest station among the 273 stops in the Seoul Metro system (Lines 1-8). It sees an average of 150,000 passengers daily.

Our Singaporean guests integrated a dinner at Goldtuna Bangi-dong into this Jamsil sightseeing route.

They didn't just walk in after visiting Lotte World Tower and Seokchon Lake.

It was a deliberate choice to experience the content they had seen back home in Singapore right here in Seoul.

Creating Lasting Memories of Korea

We are incredibly grateful that they watched the Auntie Somac video in Singapore and traveled all the way to Bangi-dong.

More than the distance they traveled, we are touched that they chose to make Goldtuna a part of their precious vacation memories.

We hope their entire trip to Korea was filled with joy and wonderful experiences.

We wish the family health and happiness, and we look forward to seeing your smiling faces again on your next visit to Seoul!

Goldtuna has two locations: Bangi-dong and Sinsa-dong.

Bangi Branch (Jamsil) is perfectly located for those exploring Jamsil, Seokchon Lake, Lotte World Tower, and Olympic Park. It is a popular spot for family dinners, corporate gatherings, and friends, and we continue to see a rise in independent international travelers visiting after seeing Auntie Somac's content.

Sinsa Branch (Garosu-gil) is located in the trendy Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil area. It is ideal for dates, anniversaries, blind dates, and business meetings where the focus is on the food and conversation. Anniversary lettering services are available upon request, and our signature Somac service is available depending on the restaurant's schedule.
