Gold Tuna 15-Course Menu Review: Perfect Even for Non-Tuna Eaters
When choosing a restaurant for a group, a single person's food preference can often change the entire plan.
"I'm not a big fan of raw fish; would it be okay for me to go to a tuna restaurant?"
This is a natural question when tuna lovers and those who prefer other foods dine together. At Goldtuna, our evening course is not just a repetitive serving of tuna sashimi. We curate a diverse menu that includes grilled dishes, fried items, meat dishes, full meals, and desserts alongside premium tuna.
If you are dining with someone who doesn't eat much tuna, it is important to look beyond the amount of fish and check what other accompanying dishes are served.
A Premium Tuna Restaurant That Offers More Than Just Raw Fish
First-time visitors to specialty tuna restaurants often imagine a meal consisting of nothing but endless platters of raw tuna sashimi.
One of the reasons Goldtuna designed its signature 15-course omakase (chef's choice) is to avoid the monotony of eating only one type of food.
In addition to cold sashimi, we include warm cooked dishes, fried items, grilled specialties, and full meal options. Tuna enthusiasts can enjoy various premium cuts (like otoro and akami), while those who find raw fish overwhelming can enjoy the diverse range of cooked dishes served in between.
The core value of our 15-course meal lies not just in the number of dishes, but in the diversity of the cuisine provided.
The Goldtuna 15-Course Menu: A Complete Breakdown
Currently, Goldtuna's evening course consists of the following selections:
Tuna Porridge (Juk)
Tuna Salad
Fish Balls
Grilled Mushrooms on Hot Plate
Tuna Sashimi (Premium cuts)
Tuna Sushi
Additional Tuna Servings
Ankimo (Monkfish Liver)
Tteokgalbi (Grilled Korean Short Rib Patties)
Fried Tuna
Grilled Mero (Sea Bass)
Cream Shrimp
Maki (Hand Rolls)
Udon Noodles
Dessert Ice Cream
This menu structure is vastly different from simply serving multiple platters of raw fish.
- While we feature fresh tuna dishes like sashimi and sushi, we also include a variety of cooked items such as grilled mushrooms, tteokgalbi, fried tuna, grilled mero, cream shrimp, and udon.
Distinctive flavors and textures like ankimo, maki, and ice cream are interspersed throughout the meal.
This balance ensures that everyone at the table, from tuna lovers to those who prefer cooked cuisine, can enjoy the same course together.
What Options Are Available for Those Who Don't Eat Raw Fish?
There are degrees to "not being able to eat tuna." If a guest simply doesn't want to eat a lot of raw tuna, they can fully enjoy the numerous cooked dishes included in the course.
However, if a guest does not eat tuna at all or avoids all raw fish, it is essential to inform us at the time of reservation.
If requested in advance, Goldtuna can partially substitute raw items with cooked alternatives, such as tuna steak, within reasonable limits.
Please note that this does not mean all menu items can be changed arbitrarily. Since availability depends on daily ingredients and kitchen capacity, it is best to confirm these details during the booking process.
A Glimpse into the 15-Course Layout
In this post, we share a photo taken by one of our customers.
On the table where two guests are dining, you can see the dedicated tuna tray alongside grilled dishes, udon, multiple side plates, and desserts.
What this photo reveals isn't just the food preferences of the two guests.
It captures the fact that a variety of different dishes are served alongside fresh tuna on a single table.
This scene is a real-life demonstration of how Goldtuna structures its 15-course dining experience.
How to Book When Dining with Someone Who Doesn't Eat Tuna
When dining in a group, not everyone has to have the same taste in food.
However, if someone in your party does not eat tuna at all, it is much better to let us know during the reservation process rather than trying to change the menu after arrival.
You don't need to overthink the request. Simply saying:
"One person in our group does not eat raw tuna. Are there alternative menu options available?"
Providing this information allows us to confirm the possible arrangements for your specific date.
Goldtuna operates in two locations: the Bangi-dong branch and the Sinsa-dong branch. Both locations provide the same high-standard 15-course meal. You can visit the Bangi-dong branch (near Jamsil and Bangi-dong) or the Sinsa-dong branch (near Sinsa-dong and Garosu-gil).
